Andy is an experienced teacher keen to share his enthusiasm of playing guitar with his pupils.
Lessons are given in folk and popular music with specialist areas of classical and acoustic finger picking. Beginners to advanced players are welcome.
Andy can also teach music theory, songwriting skills and improvisation.
Areas of development include guitar techniques, rhythm playing, chords, reading tab and sheet music, open tunings and repertoire development.
Pupils can be entered for exams in either classical guitar with Associated Board or Trinity/ Guildhall or Rock School or RGT grades. Andy regularly teaches up to Grade 8.
Teaching can be in the daytime or evenings, individually or in small groups.
Current teaching rates are £15 per half hour and £28 per hour. Group rates vary according to the size of the group but will be around £9 per session.
Every effort is made to make the lessons enjoyable and based on student's individual likes and dislikes. This can include working out tunes for pupils to enjoy.
Andy is CRB checked, a member of the Musician's Union and Registry of Guitar Teachers.
